Noch kurz vor der Winter NAMM 2012 überraschen uns die Japaner mit dem Akai MPC Renaissance, einer rechnerbasierten MPC mit integriertem Audio-Interface. Der softwarebasierter Sampler/Sequenzer läuft auf eueren Mac und auch auf dem PC – steuern lässt er sich über die Hardware. Neben dem MPC Renaissance erscheint noch MPC Studio sowie MPC Fly welches wohl für das Apple iPad geschaffen wurde. Die MPC Software rennt im Standalone oder auch als VST, AU oder RTAS Plug-in. Der Preis & mehr Details zu den anderen beiden MPCs stehen noch nicht fest, allen Anschein hat Akai ein echt heisses Eisen im Offen und eine ernsthafte Konkurrenz zur NI Maschine.
