Dem digitalen Jockey stehen eine reihe guter Software zur Verfügung um den Mix zu meistern, meist beschränkt sich die Auswahl des Users aber auf die zwei Big-Player Native Instruments und Serato – dies muss nicht immer sein und so wurde schon so mancher auch mit M-Audio TORQ glücklich. Mit PCDJ Dex 2 kommt eine weitere Empfehlung für eine extrem vielseite DJ-Software welche für Mac und den PC zu haben ist, unterstützt werden vier Decks (2 für Video und Karaoke) welche alle schön dank automatischer BPM & Gain Anpassung verschmelzen. Per Tastatur, Maus oder einem MIDI fähigem Equipment kann der User außerdem Samples, Loops und Hot-Cues schön starten wie er Lust und Laune hat.

Dank der Vinyl-Simulation sollen auch Nostalgiker auf ihre Kosten kommen und Abbremsen, Pitch, Reverse und Scratchen sollen naturgetreu rüber kommen, der Timecode auf Vinyl oder CD wird freilich auch unterstützt. Das herausragendste Merkmal ist aber die Unterstützung von VST-Instrumenten! Auch im Futter ist der Dex 2 nicht wählerisch und mag neben dem Karaoke-Format cdg auch mp3, m4a, wav, aiff, ogg, cda, mpeg, avi, mov, mkv, wmv, flac und viele mehr. Bis zm 30. November 2011 gibt es PCDJ Dex 2 zum Schnäpchenpreis für $199 direkt bei pcdj.com, später wird der Preis um $30 steigen – eine Demo Version ist ebenfalls zum antesten auf der Homepage erhältlich.
